Why?
I have been at this game for a long long time. Like so many of my contemporaries, I had to work out how to do things. There was no road map or tutorial or course to guide us. To make a mistake was to learn and so we did. Things are getting better now with colleges offering courses; vendors running trainee programs and other educational offerings out there for young people to learn from
As for me and my contemporary production managers, well we are getting older and will retire at some stage. I believe that we should pass on as much of what we know as we can. My first book was the start for me to put down what I have learned. I am writing a second book and hopefully that will round out my knowledge share, and I can walk away when the time is right...happy to have done my bit.
This blog is an effort to continue this 'sharing' as I go around doing shows. The important difference with the blog is that these are opinion pieces. The books are peer reviewed and backed by my publisher as technical works. So in the blog posts you can expect a little bit of controversy (hopefully). But let me say it again. These posts are my opinions, and I am always up for a discussion, so jump in if you feel inclined.
You can find my book here.
